Pencil, watercolour and ink on paper, 21x15cm, May 2019

The sketchbook page shows a woman sitting cross-legged on a bed in the center of the frame with her hands in front of her. She’s facing the viewer towards the foot end of the bed and on the wall behind her there is a large drawing. She is leaning against a large teddy bear, pushing it into the room’s corner towards the right.
She is sitting tilted to the left, looking at the viewer in a three-quarter view.
The room is painted in different tones of purple, blue, beige and grey. The walls, bed frame and shadow underneath the bed are painted in various shades of purple, the bedsheets and the large drawing on the wall are painted in two different tones of blue, the colour applied as a simple wash.
This makes the woman and her teddy bear stand out against the room, with the teddy and skin being painted with soft, natural beige and pink tones while her clothes are shaded in grey. Her hair as well as the design on the drawing on the back wall are left paper-white, drawing the attention towards her face.
