Digital artwork, printed, 60x40cm, December 2018
The digital print depicts a mythical, anthropomorphic creature standing on top of a cloud on a mid-tone, warm grey background with over a dozen black balloons attached to its arms, as an extension of them.
It is standing off centre to the left in a three-quarter view looking outside of the left-hand-side of the image, turning its head into a profile view. The figure’s limbs, as well as the beak-like extremity on its head, have a grainy gradient to black and trail out to thin points, turning into strings with balloons attached to them. Its lower body has wide hips with a round and feminine shape.
Its legs trail out into thin pointy stems, indicating the creature’s weightlessness, floating with the cloud. The upper body is depicted as slim with small breasts. The right arm is held in front of its body with balloon strings going in between the legs billowing out on the upper right-hand side of the painting. The creature’s left arm is angled and held up to its chest, while the balloons float up and away towards the top right and middle of the picture .
The figure’s hat with the beak-shaped front, which covers the head like a helmet, is tied underneath the chin, and the creature has a black, tie-on bandit mask over its eyes which is pulled over the hat and secured at the back of the head.
