Acrylic on canvas cardboard, 24x18cm, October 2019

The painting shows the face of a woman “en face” as a bust with only parts of the neck visible. The head is positioned in the centre of the image with thickly applied paint in an impasto style on to a bright blue painted surface. It’s facial features as well as the hair are roughly sculptured with different tones to create plasticity and volume within the piece.
The colours of the skin and hair are loosely introduced onto the background with a palette knife.
Golden accents to the painting add a yellow shade to the blue, pink and brown of background skin and hair, making the colour palette a pleasant primary colour tone selection.
