I created this piece as a school project, for which we had to create an “additional” piece to fit into a series of Cindy Sherman’s photography. The clown’s makeup is presenting a smile, however the facial expression of the face underneath is serious.
I dressed up as a clown, making sure the makeup would look right when I pulled a frown, and my teacher showed me how to edit the background in photoshop.
